Celebration !

Everyday is a celebration because instead of waiting for happy endings, we open our eyes to the wonder of life, to see the humour and magic in each moment. Delighted in the way things turn out, amazed at the beauty of it all.

Manners !

A person of wisdom and spirituality has very beautiful manners that have grown from genuine respect and love for the whole of humanity. Manners in this sense have nothing to do with culture or education: it is simply a question of humility. When we are at the receiving end of such manners, we feel that some deeper part of us has been honoured. In fact, none of us deserves anything less.

Power to tolerate !

To tolerate does not mean to die, but to live in everyone's heart with love. No natter how much against you someone is, even if you have to tolerate not once but ten times, nevertheless, the fruit of the power of tolerance is imperishable and sweet.

Self respect !

Self-respect is not a matter of what you are doing in your life, but rather of how you are doing it. It requires that you bring quality and virtue into each action, whatever that action may be.

Thoughts Words and Actions

The gap between what you say and what you do, between what you promise and what you deliver, is like a drain in the road. The drain is where water escapes, just as your power will seep away if there is a difference between your words and your actions. Ask yourself everyday, were your thoughts, words and actions aligned? Ask someone else what they saw in you too. Feedback is the food of all positive change.

Are today's kids turning into couch potatoes ?

Children who watch TV for hours a day or more are less fit and do less in schools. The problem with watching TV is that it is passive . The viewer just sits there for hours without making any physical effort . It doesn't need much mental effort either. All you have to do is to watch the images flickering in front of your eyes and if you get bored, press a button on the remote.

Compare this with reading a book. You have to read the words and think about what they say as the story develops. As you are reading you will be increasing you vocabulary , improving your spelling and developing your thinking skills . On the other hand it could be argued that there are educational programmes on TV. But unfortunately kids do not watch such programs. Instead they zap the remote control and tune into a quiz show, a crime program or a horror film. Worst of all , they at times watch some disgusting programmes that turns them into more violent and hostile . At times they get frightened and withdrawn.

Another problen with TV is that it is a solitary pleasure. This is made worse by the fact that roughly 35 % children have there TV sets in their bedroom , so they are not watching it with the rest of their family. It is no wonder then , that the couch potato generation has trouble making friends and getting on with people .

And it is getting worse . There is computer on which kids are spending too much of time nowadays. This means more exposure to violence , [ shoot-em-up games , fighting games and Alien blasting games and could allow them to link up to the internet which is totally uncensored and could be very dangerous and disturbing for children of this age.

So perhaps it is time for parents and teachers to start laying down a few rules.

  • No televisions in bedrooms .
  • Not more than one hour viewing per night.
  • Spend more time reading.
  • No TV snacks.
  • Homework must be done first.
  • No viewing after nine 'o clock.
  • Take part in a healthy sport.
  • Join a club such as scouts or guides. The computer should be used for serious and genuine work only.
  • No games allowed on computer.
  • Only parent-approved access to the internet shall be allowed.

Survival of the fittest !

It's true that 'Lajja' enhances the beauty of a woman but it has nothing to do with her protection.

A woman can guard herself by her Intellect and presence of mind which includes her education, upbringing and her awareness.

Above all, A woman doesn't need any sort of 'Alankaran' to feel good. Since ages, women are fooled and pampered by men . A man emotionally blackmails a woman by his fake praises and a woman in return submits herself to the man . She rarely uses her intellect in judging his intentions. Her so called 'Lajja' becomes her enemy. Only her wisdom can save her to fight the flood of emotions induced by a person.

An aware and wise lady possess the biggest virtue of wisdom which guards her everywhere in all situations. She doesn't require any 'alankaran' as kawach to survive.

A woman must know her place. She must earn education, knowledge and awareness. She should feel proud of herself. She must admire herself. She must be in love by herself.

Once in love with onself we do not need any sort of tags ( alankaran).

Above all Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. Only a sober, somber and sauve man can induce the feeling of 'lajja' in a woman. Because it requires a very strong man to bring womanhood in a woman.

Usually men want a woman to surrender before them, but this offends a woman. She denies to surrender. But a loving and caring man can make a woman submit herself to him with utmost trust in him. So there is a huge difference in submission and surrender.

I will conclude by saying..."survival of the fittest"।

But who is the fittest one ?

The one who is aware and wise.

So Only wisdom can be anyone's 'Kawach", irrespective of gender.

What's your opinion on this issue ?. Share with me too...will you ?

Which one is first to appear on earth--Egg or Hen?...

Yesterday i was watching this program on TV, and i heard scientists have proved that egg came prior to hen as the proteins required to make egg shell is present in hen only.

Its hard to believe that hen came first .

Quite possible that an egg came first in the process of evolution. Favourable conditions allowed the calcium shell to be formed. Required proteins might be present on earth or in the water.

Million dollar question is - how the hen came in existence in the absence of an egg?

It will always be debatable, egg or hen's existence first ?

I still believe, first existence of egg is possible because evolution starts with small and tiny things and like seeds.

Possibility of hen coming into existence directly without egg, with all the organs inside, sounds unbelievable.

If hen came first, then why the egg producing organ was there in the hen?

If for a while we agree that hen came first because egg can be formed by the protein found inside hen only. But then the question is -- Are the scientists negating the established fact of hen coming from egg?

Hen came from nowhere?

Looking for an answer...help me !
